We've been asked for dry boxes with tabs for years.  Decided it's time to bring a few to market and see how it does.

Specs

  • Two tension-adjustable latches
  • Rubber cushioned handles at both ends of the box
  • Built with heavy .080 aluminum
  • Two lid cables which keep the lid in the vertical position when open.
  • From the top of the lid to the bottom of the latch 3 3/4"
  • FrontierPlay label is not on the dry box.
  • The tab is 11" from the bottom of the dry box to the bottom of the tab.

It’s a Dry Box

Loaded it with stuff and threw it in my pool. Came back an hour later and it was dry inside. Floated upside down so the seal was under water. So, that’s great, priority #1 satisfied. Opened the lid and the rubber gasket comes off, the lid catches each time it opens and pulls it off. I have to use an angle grinder to open it up a little. I bought the box with frame tabs and they are SHARP!!! I have to file those down. Overall, the box will serve its purpose well, but it will take some owner (me) tinkering to get it perfect. Bought during a sale so it all balances out, I am satisfied.

Great value and quality

Construction seems pretty good. When it arrived one of the internal rubber washers had broke/worn off and was floating around the inside of the dry box. I will likely use some gasket seal or similar instead of replacing the washer. The finish looks great! For my 14' Hyside the 40" width is about perfect for use of space without rubbing. The tabs and overall depth hold the box 3-4" off of the floor, which becomes a bit of wasted space. It would be interesting to see about a version of this with the tabs up higher and the latches on the sides where they would not be interfered with.
